The Trident of Poseidon is a fictional item featured in comic books published by DC Comics. It is associated with the Aquaman line of titles and first appeared in Aquaman, Volume 1 #17 in October, 1964 in a story titled "The Man Who Vanquished Aquaman".
Description[]
The Trident of Poseidon is a three-pronged melee weapon forged by Poseidon - the Greek god of the sea. In additional to conventional combat use, it also possesses mystical properties such as controlling water, manipulating seismic activity and opening spatial apertures.
In later years, the Trident of Poseidon has become a symbol of office for the King of Atlantis. In most cases, it is wielded by Atlantis' longest reigning monarch, Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman.
