- The character of Tri-Klops was created by director Lou Zukor and writer Robby London based on the Masters of the Universe toy line by Mattel.
- Tri-Klops was one of Skeletor's Evil Warriors.

- Tri-Klops' power set is similar to that of Scott Summers, aka Cyclops from Marvel Comics continuity, who could focus an optic blast from his eyes filtered through ruby quartz glasses.
