Transformers: Dark of the Moon is an American science fiction/action film and the third feature film in the Transformers live-action movie series based on the Hasbro toyline. It was directed by Michael Bay and written by Ehren Kruger. It was produced by Paramount Pictures and Di Bonaventura Pictures and released theatrically in the United States on July 1st, 2011. The film stars Shia LaBeouf, John Turturro, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel and Patrick Dempsey.

The premise of the film involves the decades-long secret plot of the evil robotic Decepitcons against their virtuous opponents, the Autobots. The Aubotobts discover that NASA has had knowledge of a crashed Autobot Ark on Earth's moon since 1969. They retrieve the remains of Prime's old mentor, Sentinel Prime, and enlist his aid in stopping the Decepticons from building an elaborate space bridge that will allow Megatron the ability to take over the world. Once again, Sam Witwicky, finds himself caught between his duty towards the Autobots, his duty towards his new girlfriend, his responsibilities to his family and the pressures of trying to find a maintain a steady job.
