Trafalgar Square is a public square located in central London in the city of Westminster in England, and is one of the most well known locales in the city. Managed by the Greater London Authority, Trafalgar Square sits on the area once known as Charing Cross. It is known for Nelson's Column, which includes a statue of Horatio Nelson at the top of it, and for its numerous water fountains. Horatio Nelson was a commander in the British Navy who fought at the Battle of Trafalgar, for which the square is named.
History[]
After returning from a time-traveling adventure, Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton visited Trafalgar Square as part of a sight-seeing tour. [1] On January 1st, 1966, the TARDIS materialized in Trafalgar Square. [2]
In March of 2005, Mickey Smith had lunch with his girlfriend, Rose Tyler in Trafalgar Square. This was shortly before Rose first met the Ninth Doctor. [3] The Tenth Doctor pulled the interstellar cruise ship Titanic out of a nosedive, narrowly avoiding Buckingham Palace and piloted her along the Mall toward Trafalgar Square, on the morning of 25 December 2008. [4]
Trafalgar Square was but one region in all of London that had been terra-formed into an immense forest. A young girl named Maebh Arden, who was a student at the Coal Hill School, got lost in this area. [5]
In an alternate reality, Trafalgar Square was the site of a rally of the British Union of Fascists, presided over by Charles Xavier, who sought to protect the United Kingdom from depression, exploitation, corruption and invasion. [6]
