Tori worked as a cocktail waitress at the Silver Star Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nevada. When the "nuclear burn" occurred, most people in the surrounding areas were killed. Those who were close ground zero returned as radioactive zombies. Tori and a blackjack dealer named Tom Bennett (whom she had a sexual relationship with), were one of the few to survive. Taking up rifles, they barricaded themselves inside the now empty hotel. They created a wooden bridge between the hotel roof and the bank across the street and used a zip-line to get back and forth as needed. When a biker rang rolled into town, Tori took up a sniper's position on the roof and began taking them out. Tori and Tom later met with Cindy Ramsey, who took up brief residence at the hotel. Tom's affections towards Tori waned, and he began to focus more on Cindy. Tori ultimately betrayed Tom and Cindy, locking them up inside of a vault. She took her chances going outside, but was overwhelmed by zombies. She was resurrected as a zombie, but still retained a modicum of intellect. She declared herself the new zombie "queen".
