It first aired in the United States on BBC America on October 27th, 2007.
Plot[]
Torchwood is called in to assist the South Wales Police on a string of grisly murders. The bedroom of one of the victims' homes has the word "Torchwood" written on the wall in blood. As they investigate, they discover that the only thing linking the victims together is that they all took an amnesia pill, which is only administered by a Torchwood agent.
Determining that there is a connection between the murders and their late traitorous agent, Suzie Costello, they decide to use the Resurrection gauntlet to revive her for information. Gwen Cooper has greater acumen at using the glove and revives Suzie. To the shock of everyone, she remains alive. With Suzie's intel, they are able to capture Max Tresilian, who was a member of a group called Pilgrim and a former contact of Suzie's. Max's murderous psychosis appears to have been prompted by a trigger phrase taken from a poem by Emily Dickinson.
Suzie and Gwen talk at length, and Suzie speaks about her father, who is dying of cancer. She doesn't even know whether her father believes that she is alive or dead. Gwen feels sympathetic and breaks Suzie out of Torchwood and drives her to a hospital to see her dying father.
Unbeknownst to Gwen, Torchwood Three goes into instantaneous lockdown. The team discovers that the energy conduit created when Gwen used the gauntlet on Suzie is still active. Suzie is draining Gwen's life energy. She has about two hours before she dies. All of this, including the lockdown, as well as her own resurrection was Suzie's plan all along.
With the help of police detective Kate Swanson, Toshiko Sato discovers the numeric sequence required to end the lockdown. Jack Harkness and Owen Harper take a truck and track Gwen's automobile. They catch up with them at Hedley Quay, but they only have minutes left. Gwen is quickly dying. Jack shoots Suzie Costello multiple times, but Suzie is still alive. They deduce that her life energy is tied to the gauntlet, so he radios back to Toshiko to destroy it. Toshiko shoots the gauntlet. As it explode, Suzie Costello dies... again.
