"Hey, kids! Smilin' Stan here! We got a MARVELOUS collection of images related to Tomb of Dracula 60! Excelsior!"
Dracula was created by Irish author Bram Stoker. He is the titular antagonist of Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula, which was inspired by an actual Wallachian nobleman known as Vlad II, aka Vlad the Impaler.
This is the final issue of the series with a .30 cents cover price. Beginning with Tomb of Dracula #61, the cover price raises from .30 cents per copy to .35 cents per copy. As this issue was released in the midst of a price-hike, some of the shipments were released with a .35 cents cover price.
Penciler Gene Colan and inker Tom Palmer are credited as "artists without peer" in this issue.
The flashback scene detailing Dracula's imprisonment, his confrontation with Turac and the death of his wife Maria is recapped from the "That Dracula May Live Again!" story from Dracula Lives #2 in April, 1973. The death of Maria was also recapped in Tomb of Dracula #15 in December, 1973 in a story called "Fear is the Name of the Game!".
