"Death to a Vampire-Slayer!" is the title to the fifth issue of the first Tomb of Dracula ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It was written by Gardner F. Fox with artwork by Eugene Colan and inks by Tom Palmer. It was lettered by Artie Simek and edited by Roy Thomas. This issue shipped with a November, 1972 cover date and carries a cover price of .20 cents per copy.

Notes & Trivia

Dracula was created by Irish author Bram Stoker. He is the titular antagonist of Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula, which was inspired by an actual Wallachian nobleman known as Vlad II, aka Vlad the Impaler. The tagline to this issue is "To Slay a Vampire!" This issue carries the approval stamp of the Comics Code Authority. This issue shipped to retailers on August 22nd, 1972. This issue is reprinted in black and white in the Essential Tomb of Dracula, Volume 1 trade paperback collection, published in December, 2003. It is reprinted in color in the Tomb of Dracula Omnibus, Volume 1 hardcover collection in October, 2008. It is also reprinted in the Tomb of Dracula: The Complete Collection, Volume 1 in October, 2017 and in the Marvel Masterworks: Tomb of Dracula, Volume 1, released on October 27th, 2021. Writer Gardner Fox is credited as Gardner F. Fox in this issue. Artist Gene Colan is credited as Eugene Colan in this issue. This is the first appearance of Lenore DeCade, who is a progeny of Dracula. She appears next in Tomb of Dracula #6.
