Notes & Trivia[]

  • Dracula was created by Irish author Bram Stoker. He is the titular antagonist of Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula, which was inspired by an actual Wallachian nobleman known as Vlad II, aka Vlad the Impaler.
  • This issue carries the approval stamp of the Comics Code Authority.
  • The tagline to this issue is "City in Flames -- Beneath the Hand of a Vampire!"
  • Colorist Linda Lessmann is credited as L. Lessmann in this issue.
  • This issue continues the storyline that began in Tomb of Dracula #26.
  • Giant-Size Dracula #3 is released prior to this issue.
  • This issue establishes that all religious symbols repulse Dracula, not just the crucifix. David Eschol uses the Star of David to burn Dracula's face.
  • Joshua Eschol was murdered at the beginning of Tomb of Dracula #26. Reference is made to his death in this issue.
  • This is the first appearance of Mae Li, who is an assistant to Doctor Sun. She makes two appearances in total. She appears next in Tomb of Dracula #28.
  • This is the first and only appearance of Randolph; dies in this issue.
  • The vampire hordes emerge from Highgate Cemetery. Dracula has used this site as a sanctuary such as he did in Tomb of Dracula #16.
  • This is the first actual appearance of Danny Summers. He previously appeared in flashback in Tomb of Dracula #1. His next actual appearance is in Tomb of Dracula #31.
