Tom Flanagan is a fictional British civilian and a minor character featured on the science fiction television series Torchwood. He made a single appearance in episode 1x03, "Ghost Machine" in 2006. He was played by actor John Normington in modern day scenes and by Christopher Greene in flashback scenes.
Biography[]
Tom Flanagan was born in London, England in 1933. In 1941, at the age of eight, he was evacuated by British soldiers during the London Blitz, and taken to Cardiff, Wales. He was left behind at the Cardiff Central Station. Gripped by fear and a sense of helplessness, Tom was severly traumatized by the event.
Images of Tom's childhood as well as mental impressions were imprinted upon a device called a Quantum transducer. In the year 2006, Torchwood agent Gwen Cooper came into possession of the device and was able to learn about Tom's past.
