Synopsis[]
Thor and the Warriors Three are all hanging out at Jane Foster's apartment eating McDonalds and watching old Errol Flynn movies. Thor catches sight of a news broadcast during a commercial break and sees Firelord in Costa Verde, helping to lead a revolution against the country's government. Determined to find out why Firelord is suddenly engaging in third-world conflicts, Thor flies off with Jane to Costa Verde (Jane insists on coming as she is apparently fluent in Portuguese).
They arrive in Costa Verde and visit the presidential palace. After speaking with the president, they track down the army of "El Lobo", which also includes not only Firelord, but a strange woman referred to only as the Gypsy. When El Lobo hears word that Thor and Jane are nearby, he sends his troops out to kill them.
Thor easily decimates El Lobo's soldiers, and even Jane Foster shows that she can defend herself by judo-flipping one of the rebels. Firelord ultimately appears and Thor tries to get to the bottom of his strange behavior. Firelord is being mind-controlled by the Gypsy, who uses a crystal gem affixed to her brow to control his actions. After Thor and Firelord fight briefly, the Gypsy turns her power upon Thor and mentally enslaves him.
Back on Asgard, Odin has become more ruthless and bloodthirsty in his ruins. At the recommendation of his new adviser, Igron, he sentences three Asgardian criminals to be banished to the Molten Mire Pits. Balder observes all of this and determines that Lord Odin has gone insane. He goes off to speak with Hildegarde on the matter, but is spotted by Igron's spy, Snaykar the Skulker.
