Allusions[]
- The Jersey Devil is a cryptid said to inhabit the Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey. Legend has it, that in 1735, Debroah Leeds of Leeds Point, New Jersey, had twelve children and was pregnant with a thirteenth child. She declared that this child would be the devil, and shortly after it was born, it transformed into a cloven-hoofed creature with leathery bat wings, a head like that of a goat and a long neck. It flew up the chimney of the Leeds home and has been haunting the surrounding areas ever since.
