"The Host" is the second episode of season two of The X-Files and is the twenty-sixth episode in the series overall. The episode was directed by Daniel Sackheim and written by series creator Chris Carter. It first aired on the Fox Network on Friday, September 23rd, 1994. In this episode, Walter Skinner sends Mulder to Newark, New Jersey to investigate what appears to be a routine murder. When Mulder begins looking into the death of a man found in a sewer, he soon realizes that there is more to this matter than meets the eye.
