"The Field Where I Died" is the fifth episode of season four of the paranormal television series The X-Files and the 75th episode of the series overall. It was directed by Kim Manners and written by Glen Morgan and James Wong. It first aired on the Fox Network on Friday, November 3rd, 1996. A baby is found buried alive in shallow ground and appears to have birth defects resulting from generations of inbreeding, leading Mulder and Scully to a reclusive family who have a history of inbred children.
