"Ground Zero" is a novel written by Kevin J. Anderson that takes place within the continuity of the popular Fox Network television series The X-Files. The book was originally printed in hardcover and has also been made available in mass market paperback, abridged audiobook cassette format, Kindle edition and NOOKbook ebook edition. The audiobook is read aloud by series co-star Gillian Anderson (no relation to the author). The premise of the novel involves FBI agents Fox Mulder and his partner Dana Scully. Assigned to the X-Files division of the department, it is their job to investigate strange, bizarre cases that the FBI are reluctant to pursue. Their assignment brings them to the laboratory of Doctor Emil Gregory, who was burned to death in a wave of nuclear radiation that left everything else in the area unscathed. Their troubles intensify when they learn about several more researchers, all across the country, who are being killed off one by one in similar fashion.
