The Gifted is an American live-action television series of the action and superhero fantasy genre. It is based on the popular X-Men multimedia franchise as seen in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The series was created by Burn Notice showrunner Matt Nix and utilizes characters and plot elements plucked from different X-Men related media. The series takes place within its own continuity, separate from that of the X-Men film series as well as other Marvel Television projects. The show was produced by Bad Hat Harry Productions, Kinberg Genre, and Flying Glass of Milk Productions and began airing on the FOX Network on October 2nd, 2017.
The Gifted features an ensemble cast of characters including Stephen Moyer in the role of Federal prosecutor Reed Strucker, Amy Acker as his wife, nurse Caitlin Strucker, Natalie Alyn Lind & Percy Hynes White as their mutant children, Lauren & Andy Strucker, Coby Bell as Federal agent Jace Turner, and a group of mutant freedom fighters which consists of Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz, Jamie Chung as Blink, Blair Redford as John Proudstar, and Emma Dumont as Lorna Dane.
