- The 100 was developed for television by Jason Rothenberg. It is based on a series of novels by Kass Morgan. The show takes place some ninety-plus years into the future in a post-apocalyptic reality where the survivors of Earth reside aboard a massive space station. One-hundred prisoners are sent to the planet to determine whether or not the Earth is habitable once again.
