Tenzil Kem is a fictional comic book superhero featured in titles published by DC Comics. He is associated with the Legion of Super-Heroes line of titles and first appeared in Adventure Comics #303 in December, 1962 in a story titled "The Fantastic Spy!"

  • Efficient digestion: The people of Bismol had to adapt to harsh environmental changes, and as such, Tenzil Kem developed the ability to consume any material that could fit into his mouth. This includes being able to bite, chew, swallow, digest and excrete large volumes of matter that would otherwise be considered indigestible to anyone else.

  • Unarmed combat: All Legionnaires have undergone training in basic hand-to-hand combat.

Equipment[]

  • Legion flight ring: All members of the Legion of Super-Heroes received a gold-colored ring emblazoned with the letter "L" that gifted them with the power of flight, including those members who could already fly of their own accord.

  • The character of Tenzil Kem was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist John Forte.
  • Tenzil Kem is the fifteenth member to join the Legion of Super-Heroes.
  • Because Matter-Eater Lad's super-power was considered to be unique, this qualified him for membership in the Legion of Super-Heroes.
  • He became a politician in his later life.
  • Tenzil Kem also appeared on the Legion of Super-Heroes animated TV series. He was introduced in the fifth episode of season one, "Champions", and was voiced by actor Alex Polinsky.
  • On the cartoon series, Tenzil Kem's costume has a symbol of a giant tooth on it.
  • Tenzil Kem made his first post-Zero Hour appearance in Legion of Super-Heroes, Volume 4 #63 in December, 1994.
  • Tenzil Kem made his first "Threeboot" appearance in Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes #31 in August, 2007.
