Telescopic vision is the ability to see objects at great distances with the same level of visual clarity as if the object were very close. In speculative fiction, this is an ability common amongst the alien members of the Kryptonian race featured in comic book titles published by DC Comics, specifically, the Superman family of titles as well as its various media spin-offs and adaptations. All Kryptonians who are active in an environment where they can harness solar energy from a yellow sun possess this ability to some extent or another.
Superman often uses telescopic vision in combination with x-ray vision. An example of this would be when Clark Kent, while sitting inside his office, once perceived a spacecraft crash landing several miles away, only to discover that it's occupant was his own Krytponian cousin, Supergirl. [1]
