Team Gunn is a fictional organization featured in the continuity of the "Buffyverse" multimedia franchise. It is associated with the WB Network television series Angel. The origin of the group dates back to the season one episode, "War Zone", but did not become its own entity until the Angel: After the Fall comic book series by IDW Publishing, which took place after the end of the TV series.

Overview[]

Team Gunn refers to a gang of vampire hunters, which was originally led by a street vigilante named Charles Gunn. His original unit included several combat-trained hunters, as well as his younger sister, Alonna Gunn. Alonna became a victim of a vampire named Knox, and was turned into a vampire herself. Charles was forced to put her down a stake to the heart. Shortly thereafter, he dissociated himself from his gang, and joined the ranks of Angel Investigations, which were also known by the nickname, "Team Angel". [1]

History[]

Team Gunn did not get its official start until after the fall of Los Angeles, when they entire city had been shunted into Hell and was overrun by demons. During this time, Charles Gunn was mortally injured, but survived when he was turned into a vampire himself.

Charles found an existing gang and took over as the group's leader. He began referring to the gang as "Team Gunn", which was met with some derision as they had already been an assembled group before he came along. Charles defended his right to name the gang by citing that he came up with the idea of the color-coordinated outfits. [2]

One person who joined the ranks of Team Gunn was Gwen Raiden, whom Charles had prior experience with when she helped Team Angel out with some problems during the Wolfram & Hart years.
