Tarnax IV is a fictional planet featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It first appeared in Fantastic Four, Volume 1 #18 in September, 1963. The planet was destroyed in Fantastic Four, Volume 1 #257 in August, 1983.
History[]
Tarnax IV was a planet located in the Tarnax system in the Andromeda Galaxy. For more than a millennia it served as the home world of the shape-shifting alien race known as the Skrulls, who generally referred to it as Throneworld.
For many years, Dorrek VII served as Emperor to the Skrull Empire. Based on Tarnax IV, he secretly conspired with his underlings on a means of invading Earth, first by defeating what he believed to be their most problematic element - the Fantastic Four. Dorrek sent the empowered Super-Skrull to Earth in the hopes of preparing the planet for conquest. [1]
Many years later, Dorrek's wife, R'Klll, assassinated her husband and became the new Empress of the Skrull Empire. [2]
A short time after that, the world-devouring cosmic being known as Galactus sent his newest herald, Nova, to locate a planet fit for him to consume. Galactus came to Tarnax IV and erected his planet-consuming apparatus, which destroyed the planet, killing millions of Skrulls, including Empress R'Kill. [3]
