Notes & Trivia

  • Ongoing reprint titles were quite popular amongst Marvel Comics titles during the late 1970s and early 1980s. According to Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter, this was often done because Marvel had allotted a certain amount of advertizing dollars to its sponsors, and this was the most economic means of fulfilling their quota without taking on the additional costs of printing new material.
  • To satisfy their advertizing quota, many of these issues were edited versions of the original tales, trimming down up to two pages worth of material per issue from the original material.
