Barr with artwork by Joe Staton and inks by Frank McLaughlin. It was colored by Anthony Tollin and lettered by Ben Oda. The cover art illustration was rendered by Brian Bolland. - The character of Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern, was created by writer John Broome and artist Gil Kane. He first appeared in Showcase #22 in October, 1959 in a story titled "S.O.S. Green Lantern!" He received his first ongoing Green Lantern comic book series in August, 1960.
