"Night of the Warring Dead" is the story title to the sixteenth issue of the first Swamp Thing ongoing comic book series by DC Comics. The story was written by David Michelinie with artwork by Nestor Redondo, who also provided embellishment work for this issue. The cover art was penciled and inked by Nestor Redondo. The colorist for this story is Tatjana Wood. It was edited by Joe Orlando. This issue shipped with a May, 1975 cover date and carried a cover price of 25 cents per copy (US).

"Night of the Warring Dead"[]

Swamp Thing finds himself on the island of Kala Pago, where a priestess and a mercenary enlist him in their revolution against the tyrannical regime there, until she uses her magic to raise an army of zombies from the dead. Swamp Thing destroys the magic talisman that animates her zombies, leading to the deaths of the mercenary and the High Priestess, at the guns of the regime.
