In 1967, Spider-Man matched wits against a culturally insensitive portrayal of a "Super Swami" in the appropriately titled "Super Swami" episode of the Spider-Man animated television series.
On the "Sonsabitches" episode of Preacher, the leader of The Grail, Herr Starr, conducts a raid on a group of Hare Krishnas and kills the swami.
