Night of the Demons (1988)[]

Suzanne - NOTD 002

This is the only thing involving lipstick that we're allowed to show you.

Suzanne was a teenage partier in the late 1980s and a close friend of Angela Franklin. Angela had put together a Halloween party to be held at an old abandoned funeral home known as Hull House. Suzanne and Angela stopped at a convenience store to grab some snacks. Dressed as a ballerina in a very short skirt, Suzanne deliberately leaned over while inspecting the product shelves, exposing her bottom to the two male employees working behind the counter. This was all done to keep them distracted so that Angela could steal a large quantity of snacks and drinks, which she placed into her bag.

At the party, Suzanne continued to draw attention to herself by acting flirtatious and dancing in a provocative way. She was present when Angela decided to hold a seance in front of a mirror, which inadvertently released demonic spirits that had been trapped in the building. The disembodied entity took control of Suzanne first, who then spread the demon's influence upon Angela by kissing her.

As the night wore on, the demon's presence took a more physical effect on Suzanne. She began acting strange, first by drawing a big heart upon her face with lipstick. She then took the lipstick tube and pushed it through her breast into her skin. Another partier, Jay Jansen, entered the room. Having gained no satisfaction with his own date, Judy Cassidy, decided to take advantage of Suzanne's seductive nature. Suzanne mounted him and the two began having sex, at which point, she revealed her demonic face before pressing her thumbs through Jay's eyes. This caused Jay to become possessed by a demon as well.

As the evening continued, more and more party guests succumbed to demonic possession. Demon Suzanne and the others pursued the last two survivors, Judy and a boy named Rodger. However, their power was only affective until sunrise and Judy and Rodger were able to hold out long enough so until the rays of the sun exorcised the demons from their hosts' bodies. With that, Suzanne's corpse collapsed upon the ground.

Suzanne - Night of the Demons

The cat says "Meow".

Suzanne was a large-breasted woman who was friends with Maddie, Lily, and Angela Feld. Angela invited Suzanne to a Halloween party being held at the allegedly haunted Broussard Mansion in New Orleans, Louisiana. Suzanne was dressed up as a sexy cat, which irritated Lily, who had a similar costume.

During the party, Suzanne became incredibly intoxicated and began table dancing to the delight of a male partier dressed up as Satan. Excessive drink overtook her and Suzanne passed out. She awakened a bit later and told her friends about the legend of Broussard Mansion and how in 1925, Evangeline Broussard committed suicide to avoid becoming the seventh member of a demonic pact that would have purportedly unleashed Hell on Earth.

The demons that resided in the basement of Broussard Mansion escaped and one of them possessed Angela Feld. Angela brought the intoxicated Suzanne into another room where she seduced her. She then pulled her top down, clawed her breasts off, then turned her into a demon as well. Suzanne became one of six victims of the demon pack, leaving only Maddie as the sole survivor. Maddie, emulating Evangeline Broussard, pretended to commit suicide just as the sun began to rise. The demons failed in their mission to complete seven possessions, which was required to give them ultimate power. The rays of the sun dispersed the possessing entities, and those who had been affected died.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • The character of Suzanne was created by director Kevin Tenney and writer Joe Augustyn.
  • Actress Linnea Quigley, who played the original Suzanne in Night of the Demons, paid homage to her character by making a cameo appearance in the remake as "ballerina lady". She is wearing the same pink costume as she did in the original and make a point of bending over, exposing her bottom to two female trick or treaters.
  • The scene were Suzanne pushes the lipstick tube through her breast is one of the most memorable and talked about scenes in the entire film.
  • In the remake, it is actually the character of Lily who imitates the scene of pushing the lipstick through her breast, which is odd since there is a character named Suzanne in the film as well. One notable addition in the remake is that Lily subsequently expunges the lipstick through her vagina.
  • A prosthetic chest piece was used during the lipstick scene in the original film. The chest piece was developed visual effects artist Steve Johnson. Linnea Quigley and Steve Johnson were later married. They got married on January 17th, 1990 and were divorced by 1992.
  • Linnea Quigley has to practice eye-gouging while on-set to prepare for her role with actor Lance Fenton.
  • Kevin Tenney said in an interview that he came up with Linnea Quigley's lipstick on her breasts scene. But the more he thought about it the more he felt it was too "out there." He went to the office the next day planning to cut it but everyone else loved it and convinced him to keep it. [2]
