Continuities[]
The Day of the Triffids[]
Sussex was one of several key locations in England in the 1981 The Day of the Triffids mini-series. Jo Payton relocated here from London after accidentally losing track of her lover, Bill Masen. Bill eventually tracked her down and the two resumed their relationship in an old farm house belonging to a blind couple. They adopted a young girl named Susan and had a child of their own. Bill and Jo were happy here for six years despite the growing Triffid population, which always threatened to exterminate humanity. A military convoy arrived and attempted to take control of the house and its occupants, but Bill, Jo and their friends and family were able to slip out in the middle of the night. [1]
