Plot[]
Dean Winchester returns from Purgatory, but has brought a friend back with him - a vampire known as Benny. By the time he catches up with Sam, he discovers that Sam quit hunting over a year ago after he had given Dean up for dead. The two argue over Sam's seeming lack of commitment to the family crusade, and then the subject turns towards Kevin Tran, who has been leaving messages for Sam for months. Dean learns that Kevin had been captured by Crowley who wanted him to use his Prophet powers to activate a demon tablet that would open up a portal to Hell. The Winchesters go to Kevin's college in Centreville, Michigan and meet his girlfriend, Channing Ngo, who is possessed by a demon. They then track Kevin down to Fairfield, Iowa where they come upon Crowley. Crowley kills Channing, but the boys manage to escape with Kevin. Later, Benny telephones Dean, but Dean obfuscates the call, neglecting to tell Sam about Benny's presence.
