Allusions[]

  • Dean Winchester assumes the alias of John Bonham when he first meets Scotty. As Scotty correctly deduces, John Bonham was the former drummer for the 1960s-70s rock and roll band Led Zeppelin. Bonham died on September 25th, 1980 from asphyxiation caused by vomiting after consuming 40 shots of vodka.
  • Sam makes reference to Jessica Moore, who was killed in the series' pilot episode.
  • Reference is made to Mary Winchester who was killed in flashback in the series' pilot episode.
