- The "Falling" episode of the CBS television series Supergirl pays homage to this episode. In the episode, Kara Danvers is exposed to red kryptonite, much the same way that Superman is in this film. She begins flicking peanuts at liquor bottles in a bar in similar fashion to what Superman does in this film.
