"When There Was No Clark Kent!" is the title to the first of three stories that appears in issue #127 of the first Superman ongoing comic book series published by DC Comics. The story was written by Jerry Coleman with artwork by Curt Swan and inks by Ray Burnley. The second feature is called "The Make-Believe Superman" and was also written by Jerry Coleman with artwork by Wayne Boring and inks by Stan Kaye. The third tale, which is also the cover feature to this issue, is "Titano the Super-Ape!" by writer Otto Binder with artwork by Boring and Kaye. All three stories were edited by Mort Weisinger. This issue shipped with a February, 1959 cover date and carries a cover price of .10 cents per copy.
