Plot[]

Tired of being pushed around and wanting to take a stand, Jordan Kent tries out for the Smallville High School football team. His enhanced strength and durability give him an extra edge, and he plows through the other players. Jonathan is concerned, for he knows that their father is going to disagree with all of this. High school hijinks continue to ensue as Sarah Cushing has a meltdown with her mother, Lana, and quits the cheerleading squad.

Meanwhile, Lois Lane continues to investigate Morgan Edge and speaks to a woman named Sharon Powell who blames Edge for her family's trauma. Somebody doesn't care for Lois' snoopiness and blows up her car.

Clark is about to get his ass whupped.

Clark eventually learns the truth about Jordan playing football and lays down the law about using his powers to his personal advantage. More teenage meltdowns ensue until finally Jonathan decides to be the voice of reason and convinces his father to let Jordan play. Clark tells Jordan he can continue to play football, but with one caveat... he is going to supervise as the assistant coach.

That evening, Lois goes to Sarah Powell's apartment to interview her. She finds Sarah unconscious and in need of hospitalization. A large man is in the room and Lois activates her signal device, which prompts Superman to rush to the scenes. The two men fight, and the attacker proves to be even stronger than Superman. Superman uses his freeze-breath to put him down, but he has to let him go in favor of whisking Sharon Powell to the hospital.

Later, a woman in the shadows meets up with Sarah's attacker on the road. With instructions to clean up this mess, she does so by producing twin beams of heat vision that kills the other man. This woman is a Kryptonian.
