- Superman was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster. He first appeared in Action Comics #1 in June, 1938 in a story called "Superman, Champion of the Opressed".
- This issue shipped to retailers on December 11th, 1955.
- This is the first appearance of the Silver Age version of Winslow Schott, aka, the Toyman. He appears in flashback only in this issue.
