- "Dangerous Liaisons" is also the title to the nineteenth episode of season five of Arrow.
Allusions[]
- The title of this episode is taken from Les Liaisons dangereuses, which is a French novel by author Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, first published in 1782. It was adapted into the feature film Dangerous Liaisons by director Stephen Frears in 1988.
- Reference is made to the 1994 action film Speed starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. The trigger phrase that Brainy uses, "Pop quiz, Hotshot", is a line of dialogue spoken by Dennis Hopper in the film, and again later by Keanu.
- Rip Roar's metallic arms are similar those used by a Marvel Comics super-villain, Otto Octavius, aka Doctor Octopus.
Quotes[]
- Kara Danvers: What's the harm in letting me help?
- William Dey: The harm is that you could get hurt. I'm not just talking physically. This has cost me friends, family. It's an obsession that has taken up two years of my life. And I don't want that to happen to you.
- Brainy: There will a hot time in the old town tonight.
