Super Friends is an American animated television program of the superhero fantasy genre. It is part of the Super Friends shared continuity of programs and it the fourth iteration of the franchise and the second series to go by the title of just Super Friends. The series was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and aired on ABC for two seasons from 1980 to 1981, totalling twenty-two regular episodes as well as eight "lost" episodes, which aired in 1983. Unlike previous versions of the show, Super Friends ran for one hour and each installment was comprised of three vignettes per episode. Voice cast for the series included Danny Dark as Superman, Shannon Farnon as Wonder Woman, Olan Soule as Batman, Casey Kasem as Robin, Norman Alden as Aquaman, Michael Bell as Zan, Liberty Williams as Jayna with guest appearances by Jack Angel doing the voice of the Flash and Hawkman, Michael Rye as Green Lantern and Apache Chief and Buster Jones as Black Vulcan. The series was released on home video as the Super Friends: The Lost Episodes DVD set by Warner Home Video in 2009.
