Suicide Slum is a fictional location featured in comic books published by DC Comics. It is part of the Superman family of comic book titles and first identified by name in the Post-Crisis environment. Suicide Slum has also been presented in the Smallville television series. Retroactively it first appeared in Star-Spangled Comics #7 in 1942.

- Garfield High School was a public high school located in the Suicide Slum neighborhood of Metropolis. The principal of the school was Jefferson Pierce. On the Black Lightning TV series, Garfield High School was a private school and located in the neighborhood of Freeland. Jefferson Pierce had worked out a deal with the local gangs that the school was to be treated with a hands-off policy with regards to The 100's criminal enterprises.
