The Republic of the Sudan is a country in Northern Africa. It is often referred to as just The Sudan, or North Sudan, since South Sudan became an independent nation. It is bordered to the north by Libya, and Egypt, and to the northwest by Libya and Chad. It is bordered to the south by South Sudan and Ethiopa and to the east by the Red Sea. [2]

In Marvel Comics, Marc Spector worked as a mercenary for a man named Raul Bushman. It was while traveling through the streets of Selima that Spector finally decided to stop following the psychopathic Bushman and turned against him. [3]

In DC Comics, a man named Gary Lester traveled across Northern Africa and found a Sudanese boy who had been possessed by a hunger demon known as Mnemoth. [4]

Selima
Selima is a city located in the Sudan. Many years ago, Marc Spector worked as a mercenary for a man named Raul Bushman. It was while traveling through the streets of Selima that Spector finally decided to stop following the psychopathic Bushman and turned against him.
Tomb of Pharaoh Seti
The Tomb of Pharaoh Seti was located in the Sudan not far from the town of Selima. The tomb was the resting place of the Egyptian god known as Khonshu. The mercenary known as Marc Spector found himself here after he was driven to the point of death following his betrayal of his psychotic employer, Raul Bushman. The light of Khonshu shone upon Marc Spector, resurrecting him. Taking Khonshu's symbols of office as his own, he committed himself towards becoming the moon's knight of vengeance. And thus, Moon Knight was born. [5]
