Sucker Punch is an American science fiction/fantasy film directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, Lennox House Films and Legendary Pictures. It was released theatrically in the United States on March 25th, 2011. Set in the 1960s, the premise of the film revolves around an attractive young mental patient named Babydoll (Emily Browning) who is scheduled to be lobotomized as a result of incurable treatment relating to the death of her younger sister. Along with three other patients, Babydoll retreats into a fantasy world filled with monsters and hi-tech weapons, which she uses to strategize a possible escape from the hospital in the real world.
