Subspecies is an American ongoing comic book series of the horror genre, with an emphasis on vampire fiction. It is based on the 1991 independent horror film Subspecies, which was produced by Full Moon Entertainment. This series was published by Action Lab Comics under their Danger Zone imprint and began publication in March 2018. The book is written by Cullen Bunn and JimmyZ with artwork by Daniel J. Logan and coloring by Yann Perrelet. The series was edited by Nicole D'Andria.
The story follows the tale of Michelle - the female protagonist from the original movie, who is now working as a nurse and is a vampire herself due to the machinations of the evil Romanian blood-sucker Radu Vladislav. Although Radu has been killed many times over, he always turns up time and again, and is now using his shadow powers to track down Michelle who is in possession of the fabled Bloodstone.
