Stuart Baird is a film editor and director born in England on January 14th, 1947. His first professional editorial work was on the 1975 musical opera Tommy, featuring music by the British rock 'n roll band The Who. His first work in the "fantastic fiction" genre was editing the 1978 comic book movie Superman. Stuart's first actual sci-fi work however was as an associate producer on the 1980 film Altered States. His next sci-fi work was on the 1993 futuristic action-thriller Demolition Man. In 2002, he directed the tenth film in the Star Trek film franchise, Star Trek: Nemesis.
