"Fiend in the Fog!" is the first story featured in issue #172 of the Strange Tales ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It was written by Len Wein with artwork by Gene Colan and inks by Dick Giordano. It was colored by Glynis Oliver and lettered by L.P. Gregory. The story was edited by Roy Thomas. The second story in this issue is a reprinted tale called "Voodoo", written by Carl Wessler, illustrated by Gene Colan, and edited by Stan Lee. This issue shipped with a February, 1974 cover date and carries a cover price of .20 cents per copy.
