"The Man Who Became the Torch!" is the first story featured in the 118th issue of the first Strange Tales ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It features Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, and was written by Stan Lee with artwork and inks by Dick Ayers. It was lettered by Sam Rosen. The second tale, which features Doctor Strange, is called "The Possessed" and is written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Steve Ditko with Sam Rosen on lettering. Both stories were edited by Stan Lee. This issue shipped with a March, 1964 cover date and carries a cover price of .12 cents per copy.

So basically, the Human Torch just lets the Wizard drift off into the high atmosphere to die. Even if Johnny couldn't pursue him, he could have hung around and waited for the Wizard to start falling so he could catch him. What a dick.
