The MK IV armor was developed by John Henry Irons. It was given to his daughter, Natasha during the time that she was adventuring as Steel. When John felt that she was not behaving responsibly with the armor, he used a device to remotely magnetize it, rendering it inert, effectively benching her as an armored superhero. [1]
