Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. is an American ongoing comic book series of the superhero fantasy genre. It was published by DC Comics and is part of the greater Justice Society of America family of titles. It ran for only fourteen issues from July 1999 to September 2000. The regular title was preceded with a zero issue. The series was written by Geoff Johns with artwork by Lee Moder and Dan Davis. The title introduces the character of Courtney Whitmore, who inherits the superhero code name Star-Spangled Kid from her late predecessor, Sylvester Pemberton. Showing Courtney what it takes to be a hero (as well as a good high school student) is Pemberton's former sidekick Pat Dugan, who keeps watch over her in his specially designed S.T.R.I.P.E. armor.
