Synopsis[]
S.T.R.I.P.E. can only save the new Star-Spangled Kid from the ultimate terror if he can get his suit to stop conking out while he's flying 300 feet in the air! And what is Courtney's ultimate terror? Why, detention, of course! Also: the new villain called Paintball explodes all over Blue Valley High!

- The character of Pat Dugan was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Hal Sherman. Originally known by his side-kick code name Stripesy, he first appeared in Star-Spangled Comics #1 in October, 1941.
- Mary Kramer comes up with the idea that Courtney should use the name Stargirl. Courtney won't adapt this code-name for several more years yet.
