- The character of Courtney Whitmore was created by writer Geoff Johns and artist Lee Moder. She first appeared in Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #0.
- The character of Pat Dugan was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Hal Sherman. Originally known by his side-kick code name Stripesy, he first appeared in Star-Spangled Comics #1 in October, 1941.
- This issue released in the same month as JSA #1.
- The title of the moving company at the beginning of the book is Action Movers. Its logo stylized in the way of Action Comics.
- The Dragon King is the master villain of this story, operating from behind-the-scenes. This is his first Post-Crisis appearance. He appeared last in Crisis on Infinite Earths #9.
- On the Stargirl television series, "New Kids on the Block" was the password to Barbara Dugan's computer at work. Beth Chapel did not understand the reference, so the "Chuck" A.I. in her goggles had to explain it to her. [1]
