Allusions[]
- The title of this episode is a reference to Justin, the janitor of Blue Valley High School. In the comics, he is Justin Arthur, formerly a knight from the 6th century who lived in the 20th century and became known as the Shining Knight. He was a member of the Seven Soldiers of Victory.
- In the comics, Sam Kurtis was Courtney Whitmore's biological father. He first appeared in a cameo photograph in Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #1. He made his introductory cameo appearance in Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #12, and his first full appearance in Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #13.
- Justin makes reference to his "valiant steed". In the comics, this would be Winged Victory, a white flying horse. A picture of a white flying horse can be seen on Justin's ball cap.
- Repeated references are made to Henry King, Jr. in this episode. Henry was killed by his own father, Henry King, Sr. in "Brainwave, Jr.".
