Starfleet Academy is a fictional learning institution featured in the Star Trek mythos. Though it has been referenced numerous times, it has very rarely been seen in the context of the television programs or the feature films. However, it played a much larger role in Star Trek 's expanded universe material, particularly in novels and comic books.
Starfleet Academy is a four-year military school and a branch of the Federation Starfleet in service to the United Federation of Planets. It's headquarters is located at the Presidio in San Francisco, California on Earth. Acceptance to the academy was conditional based upon an applicant's aptitude and skill level, as well as their proficiency at passing the admissions test.
Although Jean-Luc Picard would one day become one of the most legendary starship captains in all of Starfleet, he was not always a model student while attending the academy. By his own admission, he failed his Organic Chemistry class because his attention was more focused on a female cadet known only as A.F. (TNG: The Game)

- Worf is the first Klingon to graduate from Starfleet Academy. B'Elanna Torres would have likely been the second, albeit only half-Klingon, but she was kicked out of Starfleet due to her rash temper.
