"The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader" is a young adult novel of the science fiction and fantasy genres. It is based on the Star Wars multimedia franchise and was written by Ryder Windham. The book was published by Scholastic Productions and released in a hardcover slipcase edition on October 1st, 2007. The story features the character of Darth Vader and explores his history from Vader's perspective going all the way back to being a child slave on Tatooine as seen in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace to his ultimate final battle against the Emperor in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
