  • Star Wars was created by writer, director and executive producer George Lucas. It first captured the imaginations of movie goers in May, 1977 with its inaugural installment, which has since come to be identified by its full title, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The movie led to two sequels, a prequel trilogy, a third trilogy, several spin-off films, and numerous television programs, animated projects, novels, comic books, and video games, as well as developing into a merchandising giant.
  • This issue carries the banner "A Clone Wars Comic".
  • The events of this issue are part of the original Expanded Universe, and is not part of canon continuity.
  • The tagline to this issue is "Great power, great restraint".
  • The events of this issue are loosely adapted into the "Weapons Factory" episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The character of Master Tohno is replaced with Ahsoka Tano in the episode. Note the similarities in name. Unlike Master Tohno however, Ahsoka survives the events of "Weapons Factory".
  • David Nestelle is credited as designer in this issue.
  • This issue gives special thanks to Sue Rostoni and Amy Gary at Lucas Licensing.
  • This issue establishes that Geonosians do not like cold weather.
  • There are various suits of Mandalorian armor and jet-packs in the Geonosian catacombs.
  • This is the first and only appearance of Master Tohno; dies in this issue.
  • This is the first appearance of the ice planet Zaadja.
